Failure to Update

For the last several months, I have been unable to update. I don't want to get a new anti spyware/virus program, but I don't know what to do next. Automatic updates has always worked before and I've been very satisfied with the program.
I've followed directions about downloading updates, putting them in the manual updates folder,etc, etc. SD never asked me if I want to manually update. I've unchecked automatic updates and tried again. Still no update.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled according to directions. It's still not updating. I click Live Update and there's never anything new.
I've tried "CHAT" and they close before I can even type the problem.
I've finally figured out that the email answers to my questions are "canned" and don't really address my problem. You keep telling me to do the same thing over and over again.
Do you have any new idea what else I can do to solve this? I have Vista Home Premium/64-bit laptop. I have the 64-bit version.
I don't want to perform a final uninstall.
Please help.

Hello,
We apologize that due to server issues we were unable to view posts, now we are back in action.
Please uninstall your copy of spyware detector and download and install 64bit version from http://maxpcsecure.com/spywaredetectorx64.exe and updates should work.
